Award season is my Super Bowl and the Golden Globes is the kick off! Last night's red carpet was filled with gorgeous blush tones, fish tail hems & [what else...] haute couture. I would not say this year's red carpet was anything spectacular. I was actually quite underwhelmed with a handful of dresses this year. But I would like to focus this post on the positive. There were some incredible show stoppers this year.
With that said, here are my Top 5 Golden Globe 2012 looks:
Charlize Theron in Dior Couture
She can do no wrong in my eyes. This whole look is beyond perfect on her. And she really pulled off that headband without going all bridal on our asses. I am a huge fan of the slit & monster bow. Perfection. High five!!!
Reese Witherspoon in Zac Posen
Vavavoom! Holy hell does Reese look smoking hot! Red totally works on her. And that beachy-california hair?! LOVE! LOVE! LOVE!
Jessica Biel in Elie Saab
I have a feeling this dress will bring mixed reviews. I think it is absolutely stunning. I have a major infatuation with lace/vintage inspired dresses. This is just breathtaking. I mean, who doesn't love Elie Saab?? I am also a huge fan of her hair color. It looks incredibly rich. Ugh I just love this look!
Shailene Woodley in Marchesa
I love this Marchesa dress on Shailene. It is completely age appropriate and fits her like a dream! This is by far one of my favorite dresses of the night. She looks fab!
Michelle Williams in Jason Wu
I love the simplicity and uniqueness of this dress. There was nothing else like it last night & Michelle Williams really shined in it. I really admire the fact that she stays true to her own style. You can tell she looked totally comfortable and just owned it. It was definitely a risky choice, but it worked & I loved it! I especially love the headband on her. She is always a favorite of mine!
Okay, I know I was only going to list my top 5 dresses, but there is one person in particular who's dress I could not leave out...
Octavia Spencer in Tadashi Shoji
Now this is what I call "dressing for your figure!" Octavia Spencer looks so fierce in this Tadashi Shoji dress. It hugs & accentuates all the right curves! In my opinion, she could not have picked a more flattering silhouette, style & color. You go girl!!
