DIY: Dannijo Inspired Cuff

This past Saturday night I had a couple of girlfriends over for a DIY Craft Night. 

It was an absolute blast! There is nothing better than being surrounded by great friends, skinny girl cosmos, yummy take-out & [you guessed it] CRAFTS!

One of the projects I worked on was a Dannijo inspired cuff. Well originally it wasn't meant to be Dannijo inspired. I fell in love with the cuff at Forever21 & then, as the project progressed, the Dannijo inspiration was inevitable.

Here is the finished product.

I made the neon yellow & pink cuff and my best friend Megan made the mint cuff.

Below are the exact products I used to complete this DIY.

• Mattese Elite Nail Art in Neon Caution & Neon Thunderbolt
• Forever21 Shimmering Bow Cuff
• Sally Hansen Double Duty Base & Top Coat

The actual process is the same as my Neon Earring DIY

Steps 

1. Apply nail polish to stones 

2. Allow a few seconds of drying time after each coat - I did 3 coats, but it's obviously personal preference 

3. Apply top coat to seal - I did 2 coats 

4. Let it dry 

5. Show it off!

Today's Look: Bugging Out

Am I in Florida or NYC... It is so freakin' hot & humid that I can't tell the difference!

It is currently 94 degrees in NYC & I am legit bugging out. I've never been so thankful to work in a super casual office. If I had to dress all "corporate," I would die of heat exhaustion.

Currently Coveting: J.Crew Flower Lattice Necklace

How amazing is this J.Crew Necklace?
I was legit drooling over it in the store yesterday for 30 minutes. It comes in two colors - neon peach & multi color. The neon peach is very pretty, but the multi color is the perfect combination of brights to jazz up any outfit. I would 100% wear this baby year round! Ugh, why am I such a sucker for monstrous floral accessories?

The J.Crew Flower Lattice Necklace is the perfect statement necklace to take you from day to night. Their are endless ways to style it.

DIY: Neon Earrings

I have a major affinity for neon jewelry, neon rhinestone jewelry specifically. There are so many talented jewelry designers that doing this right now. And as much as I love their stuff, I can't necessarily afford it. But then I read Lauren's DIY Neon Earring post on L.A. in the Bay [Please tell me you read her blog...  If you don't, I highly suggest you do. She is fantastic!], I realized I could totally make my own. So as you may have guessed, I decided it was time to take matters into my own hands.

 What You Need

1. Fun inexpensive rhinestone jewelry - I opted for earrings from Forever21. Forever21 is a great place to find inexpensive and fashionable jewelry. [I used these & these]

2. Neon Nail Polish - This is where the fun begins. The color possibilities are endless. Illamasqua has some great neon options. For a cheaper neon nail polish that works just as great I suggest what I used - UO Nail Polish.

3. Top coat  - I swear by this Sally Hansen Double Duty Base & Top Coat.

4. Nail Polish Remover - Although it's totally okay to get nail polish on the metal parts of the jewelry [you can't tell from afar]. I am a major perfectionist. Zoya 3-in-1 Nail Polish Remover is the be all end all in removers.

5. Toothpicks - What can I say... I'm a perfectionist!

The process is pretty much exact to that of painting your nails.

This was so easy & such a great DIY project.

Summer Staples: Back To Basics

 I love having fun with clothes and pushing the envelope, but nothing beats some good old fashion basics. Summer is all about comfort & simplicity. Which leads me to my summer basics, inspired by my girl Jen Aniston. I will 100% be living in this outfit & variations of it this summer.

First, I would like to say - Thank you Zara for continuously being awesome & providing me with budget friendly wardrobe options that look like they should cost a hell of a lot more than they actually do. Second,  how killer are those leopard trousers? They just scream "I am the cat's meow!" I have been having dreams about these trousers & will soon make them mine. When I start obsessing about pieces of clothing, I continuously create outfits in my head. These creations in my head sometimes appear on my blog for all of you lovely people to look at [see above]. So that is exactly what this post is, what's going on in this lil ol' head of mine. And this outfit seems to be taking up a lot of space. I kind of need EVERYTHING [especially the sunnies]!

P.s. My birthday is coming up if anyone that happens to care is reading this. ::wink wink::

I attended the sale today at around 12:45pm [thank you summer fridays] & to my surprise there was no line when I got there. Obviously it was packed inside, but not as bad as other sample sales I have been to. I will say this... The place was a bit picked over, but there was still tons of great stuff. You just really have to hunt! I was told that they will be restocking, so you should definitely go check it out this weekend.

My MF Sample Sale Finds

I am not sure if you noticed, but I'm a pretty huge fan of her odyssey purple eye pattern. 

[Good thing they are completely different articles of clothing.]

The dress was $75 & the top was $50. 

MH Sample sale tip #1: Stalk the fitting room area. Everyone is doing the same thing [hoarding] & most people don't buy everything they grab. I did my fair share or stalking today & it worked out in my favor. 

MH Sample sale tip #2: Bring cash! The line to pay with credit card is ridiculously long. If you have cash you can just go right to the front. [If you are like me & don't carry cash, there is an ATM a couple stores over].

Print Out Girls Paper Dolls
