Bauble Frenzy

[Left Column] DANNIJO Alexis Earrings  ASOS Midnight Spike Cocktail Ring  J.CREW Crystal-Encrusted Earrings   TED ROSSI Chunky Jewel Mini Black Python Cuff  [Center Column] ASOS Pack Of Two Spike & Stone Bracelets  J.CREW Crystal-Encrusted Collar Necklace  ASOS Stone Bouquet Stud Earrings  [Right Column]  BLU BIJOUX Crystal Jingle Necklace  J.CREW Squared Starburst Bracelet  ASOS Dinosaur Collar Necklace

I am in the midst of a bauble frenzy and I desperately need self control!

Thanks to the "Frankenstorm" bitch named Sandy, I have had nothing to do but sit in my PJs on the couch and shop online. [Cue the violins!] I guess it could be worse, right?  I have shamefully managed to fill shopping carts on multiple online shopping sites. And the fact that these carts are literally just sitting there waiting for me to click "check out" is killing me. And that's where this post comes in. I figure by posting & sharing some of my "Frankenstorm Sandy" finds, it will keep me from immediately  clicking "check out" and help me select couple of pieces instead.

Which pieces are your favorites?

Awesome or Absurd: Full Ear Cuffs

Well the '90's ear cuff trend has returned with a vengeance. And the trend is literally taking over...

[top row] ASOS 1, 2, 3  [bottom row] Chanel SS '2012

YOUR ENTIRE EAR!

I must say, I am completely on the fence with this full ear cuff trend.. I mean, it completely takes statement jewelry to a whole new level. BUT, [in my opinion] it can go 1 of 2 ways... It can either look incredibly cool & innovative OR it can make you look like a very confused Spock...

Awesome or Absurd?

You be the judge.

Check out these full ear cuffs I found below & let me know your thoughts...

Side note: I was totally that little '90's brat rocking the jagged little pill era single ear cuff. And I'm not sure whether this is considered sad or awesome, but Claire's is still selling the same exact ear cuff I used to wear. Hmmm

Maison Martin Margiela for H&M

It's here!!! It's here!!! Maison Martin Margiela for H&M's full collection has been released for your viewing pleasure. And the collection holds so true to Maison Martin Margiela's signature avant-garde style. The clothing is pretty out of this world, although I feel I personally would only wear a few pieces. [I am loving the entire look of the oversized denim & body suit -top left photo.]

But the accessories are a whole other story! Specifically the shoes & bags.
I've gone on a little MMM for H&M shopping spree in my head & it looks a little something like this:

[Row One] Plexi Wedge, $299  .  Plexi Wedge Boot, $399  .  Plexi Wedge Ankle Boot, $349  .  Plexi Wedge, $299  [Row Two] Glove Clutch, $149 .  Folded Basic Tote, $299  .  Candy Wrapper Clutch, $59.95  .  Glove Bag, $49.95

This collection is obviously not on the inexpensive side, but it's still pretty freakin' rad! And not that this is a legit justification, but his shoes can typically run you upwards of $1,500. Just saying!!

Fun Fact:
Each piece will be labeled with a unique tag to indicate the MMM season from which it originated, so when someone compliments you on your new H&M jacket you can be all "it was inspired by fall '92 Margiela."  - Refinery29

Maison Martin Margiela for H&M launches at you local H&M on November 15th.
And I may be that loser waiting on line on November 10th... Who's coming with me??

Beanie Babies

I cannot wait to start rocking beanies. They are one of my all time favorite winter accessories. Perfect for a bad hair day & even more perfect for a good hair day! I love how designers have been having more and more fun in the beanie department [a la Eugenia Kim, Kate Spade & ASOS]. The whole animal ear & pom pom look is just plain adorable.

1. All Saints Bind Beanie $55
2. Eugenia Kim Felix Knit Beanie w/ Cat Ears $192
3. Kate Spade Wollman Rink Pom Pom Hat $98
5.  ASOS Rib 2 Pom Beanie $17.59
6.  Zara Cable Knit Beanie $16.80

Which of the above is your favorite?

Outfit Post: Girl Gone "Vamp"

Top c/o THREE DOTS Long Sleeve Lace Zip Back Top [blackcharcoal]  Jeans J. BRAND 811 Mid Rise Skinny Jeans  Boots  DOLCE VITA Davie Boot  Handbag BURBERRY Necklace Flea Market Find  Lipstick ILLAMASQUA Growl

I've been feeling a tad bit "dark" as of late. And no, not depressed daddy issues "dark," but more "vampy dark!" And thank goodness for fall, because I can finally play with this look without looking like a complete vampire loving psycho. I have been experimenting a lot with my make-up lately. I like to play around & try new looks every season. And for me, this season is all about the lip! I have never been one to wear lipstick on the regular, but since finding Illamasqua Growl, that's totally about to change. It is the perfect lip for fall!

Word of advice: When wearing a deep shade of lipstick keep you eyes simple.

Beauty Banter

When it comes to beauty products - I am constantly experimenting. It's become a bit of an addiction of mine. Of course I have my cosmetic staples [as blogged here]. But, I tend to constantly be on the look out for the next best thing.  Why not keep your eyes peeled? You never know, you may be pleasantly surprised with what you find.

Here is what I am currently digging.

1. Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge for Lips & Cheeks - I purchased Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge two weeks ago in Pale Pink & I am obsessed! It's not very often that you find make-up intended for both lips & cheeks that actually looks awesome on both your lips & cheeks. This product made me a believer!

2. Boom Boom Brow Bar Boom Boom Push-Up Brow Highlighter Pencil - This baby works wonders! I received this product in my Lucky Fabb swag bag this past September. And boy is it a brow game changer! This pencil is double sided -sparkle & no sparkle. So, you can switch it up depending on your mood. Lately I have been using the side without sparkle. And I love putting it in the corner of my eye for some extra drama!

3. Yves Saint Laurent Le Teint Touche Ã‰clat Foundation - This, my friends, is the most decadent foundation on the planet! And yes, I am aware of how bold of a statement that it. For the past 3 years I have been a devout Laura Mercier Illuminated Tinter Moisturizer user. Well... That has now changed. I have never been one for "foundation." I have relatively good skin and have always been afraid of my skin looks cakey. That is so not the case with this YSL Le Teint Touche Éclat Foundation. It tagets shadowy areas and highlights the contours of the face. And the best part, the coverage is build-able. So you can use it sparingly or in excess and not worry. Two thumbs up!

4. Maybelline Volum' Express Falsies Waterproof Mascara - Back in April, I posted a survey about Mascara [on my blog & on my personal Facebook]. I was completely overwhelmed with the the engagement and responses I had received. Mascara seems to be one hot topic! Through this little exploratory exercise, I was turned on to Maybelline Volum' Express Falsies Waterproof Mascara. And oh my goodness is it amazing! I typically tend to go for  department store brands when it comes to Mascara, but I am now a drug store kind of girl!

5. M·A·C Fluidline - For the past few years I have found myself constantly seesawing between M·A·C Fluidline & Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Gel Liner. I really do love both gel liners. BUT....  M·A·C Fluidline is way more of an intense black & consistency. It's perfect for that vintage cat eye look. And frankly, that's the look I have been going for lately. Just don't forget to use an eye primer!

6. Vaseline Lip Therapy Cocoa Butter Lip Balm - This stuff is fantastic! It is honestly the best lip therapy product I've used in a loooong time! This time a year healthy lips are essential. The changing weather can really do a number on them. And I rally love how compact it is. The size I use is a whopping .25 ounces. Perfect to stick in your clutch or pocket.

The Look For Less: Valentino "Rockstud" Leather Tote

This style bag is insanely popular this season. Leave it to Forever 21 to deliver a pretty fantastic look for less! Oh, and by the way... For you serious Valentino connoisseurs - The Valentino "Rockstud" Leather Tote is available today on Rue La La for a wee bit less than it retails for... Just saying!

2. Miss Selfridge Burgundy Fedora Hat $44

5. Juicy Couture Floppy Fedora with Feathers $78
6. Forever21 Wool Cloché $17.80
7. Topshop Mini Roller Hat $50

Hands down, fall is my all time favorite season for hats. I look at fall hats as the cherry on top of a delicious ice cream sundae [aka your ensemble]. It looks as though the Charlie Chaplin inspired bowler hat has made quite the comeback this season... I must say, I really like & appreciate the look of the bowler hat, but I am not so sure I could actually pull it off. What are your thoughts? I see myself more in the fedora/floppy style hat. And I am really digging the Juicy Couture Floppy Feather Fedora. The oxblood color is spot on & the feathers blend brilliantly. I need it in my life!

First World Problems are NOT Problems...

[An open letter to my fabulous readers & the reason for my lack in posts as of late.]

So I have produced & been working endlessly on a wonderful project with my ad agency & the organization Water is Life. It has finally launched & I am super excited to share it with all of you!

A little background about Water is Life:
Water is Life, a non-profit organization, is raising awareness on the global crisis of unsafe drinking water around the world.  Their mission is to provide life-giving clean water solutions and WASH programs to schools and villages in developing countries through innovative sustainable water solutions in partnership, to scale our impact globally.  Water is Life has distributed over 52,000 WiL personal water filters in 31 countries and has distributed filters during emergency/disaster relief initiatives through USAID. WATERisLIFE has repaired pumps, drilled wells, provided in home filters, installed water systems and has provided school and village WASH programs to over 4,300 people.

A little synopsis about our project:
There has been a #FirstWorldProblems epidemic on Twitter and Facebook as of late. Unfortunately, these "First World Problems" are not real problems. And that's where we come in. We have decided it's time to kill the "First World Problems" hashtag. This past month, my creatives, along with Water is Life traveled to Haiti to dig wells in an effort to bring clean drinking water to this country. Besides digging wells, we brought a ton of #FirstWorldProblems tweets to Haiti to see what the locals had to say about them & responded to the original authors of the tweets.

Check out our Anthem TV Spot:

Check out some of our tweet responses:

We have had a great outpouring of support from celebrities on Twitter & now I am reaching out to you - my friends, family & fabulous readers!

I would really appreciate it if you could copy & paste this as your status on Facebook, Twitter or both.

#FirstWorldProblems are not problems. Check out @WaterIsLife & donate to help solve real problems!http://tiny.cc/kornlw

Let's make a difference! Please follow their twitter & keep up with what is going on.

Your support is greatly appreciated!

Best,
Lindsey

Currently Coveting: Investment Sweaters

Every year, around this time, I get completely sweater obsessed. I find myself constantly searching online for the coziest & chicest sweaters to keep myself warm in the coming fall/winter months. And when it comes to chic & cozy, Joie is where it's at! Yes, it's definitely a bit on the pricier side, but I believe it is super important to invest in at least one sweater of high quality each fall/winter.

I absolutely love all three of these Joie sweaters. But I am especially loving the cowl neck & color of on the Wesley Marbled Sweater. I am thinking this might be my investment sweater of the season.

Which one of these sweaters in your favorite?

Oh and it's Friends & Family over at Joie!
