Our family is expanding and our needs are changing, so a move was clearly a necessity for us. A larger apartment opened up in our current building, so we snatched that baby up without hesitation! Apartments that suit your needs are not very easy to come by in here in NYC, so we could not pass this one up. You would think moving from one apartment to another within the same building would be a piece of cake, but boy was I wrong. I wont bore you with the details, but it hasn't been the smoothest transition.
Okay, so our apartment may still be a major work in progress, but that doesn't mean I can't start sharing some little apartment tidbits from my adventures in moving/decorating... After weeks of feeling like squatters in our own apartment, our bed has finally arrived! While our entire bedroom may not be finished, our bed finally is and I am super excited to share what I did with it.
I have a major affinity for tufted furniture, so when Jared and I decided it was time to upgrade from a queen to a king, I knew exactly what style I wanted. We got both our bed & mattress on major sale thanks to MLK. [Take note, national holiday weekends equal major promotions.] We decided to go with a gray theme. Believe me, if it were solely my decision there would be hot pink & glitter galore, but unfortunately with marriage comes compromise. So gray it is! After searching high and low for the perfect duvet cover, I stumbled across this gray striped duvet cover from Pottery Barn. I could not be more pleased with how it looks. I decided to add a bit of dimension with the throw pillows. Some solids to break up the stripes and of course one pillow with a bit of flair. I found the throw pillows at Pier 1. I absolutely love them & love the way the bed turned out.. Now to tackle the rest of the apartment!
Stay tuned for more apartment updates in the near future! xo
