cosmetic bag

When it comes to beauty products, I want to try everything and anything! And while I love me some great drugstore beauty finds, I will admit that I do have the tendency to splurge. While there are a few products that I've been using for quite some time, there are quite a few new ones that I am excited to share with you. Here are the products I am currently shlepping around in my cosmetic bag. Oh, and please let me know if you have tried any of these products yourself or suggest anything that I should try. I would love to hear your thoughts!

Henri Bendel Brown & White Stripe Large Cosmetic Bag / What's not to love about this cosmetic bag? It's has the classic Henri Bendel stripe print & is completely lined in vinyl. It's super east to clean & has incredible durability.  I have been using this same make-up case for the past 3+ years.

Tom Ford Illuminating Primer / This might be the most incredible primer to ever touch my face. Period! My skin has never felt so soft. Its Infusing Complex stimulates the skin's natural repair mechanisms, helping your skin cells replenish their natural energy to rejuvenate the complexion. It brightens my entire face instantly, giving it an ethereal glow that's beyond eye catching. And the best part, you only need to apply a small amount, making the bottle last forever. By no means is this primer cheap, but it's worth every penny!

Guerlain 'Parure de Lumiere' Light Diffusing Foundation / When it comes to foundation, I have a huge fear of looking "cakey." Luckily, Guerlain's 'Parur de Luminere' does just the opposite. It goes on silky smooth, giving your skin a flawless natural glow. And what I love most, is that it doesn't clog my pores or suffocate my skin. The coverage is build-able, and gives your skin a beautiful dewey glow that lasts all day long. This foundation looks amazing paired with the Tom Ford Illuminating Primer

Tom Ford Brow Sculptor / This may be the most innovative brow sculptor ever created. The formula, which comes in four colors (I use espresso), is on the waxier end of the brow spectrum, helping it to adhere to your hairs. But don't let that scare you, it's not overly waxy. The tip is unique in that it's a slanted "calligraphy" tip, allowing me to create a tailor-made strokes that look soft and natural. This pencil is also equipped with both a grooming brush and sharpener on the opposite end. Remove the opposite-end to uncover the grooming brush; twist the cap counterclockwise to reveal the sharpener. I've been known to have unruly brows, this brow sculptor may be the first that has actually tamed them while making them look their best. Hands down, it puts every other retractable eyebrow pencil on the market to shame! Trust me, your brows will thank you for this.

Tom Ford 'Shade & Illuminate' Highlighter & Shader Duet / I have been searching high and low for the perfect contouring product and this, my friends, is it! Tom Ford's 'Shade & Illuminate' is a duet of highlight and shading creams designed to sculpt and contour your face with ease. The 'shader' cream defines and contours bones while staying invisible to the naked eye. I use a small flat synthetic brush to apply and blend. It builds very easily & blends like a dream. The highlighter, is used to draw light onto your skin to brighten and lift. What I like most about this highlighter in particular is that it doesn't have a ton of shimmer, like most highlighting products. You can apply this with either your finger or a synthetic foundation brush. I like applying this on my brow bone, cheeks & cupid's bow. It leaves your skin with a glossy, luxurious glow. This product comes in two shades, Intensity 1 & Intensity 2. I have very fair skin, so Intensity 1 is perfect. This product, like the other Tom Ford products, is not cheap. When it comes to good makeup & skin products that I find worth the investment, I have no problem splurging. And this Tom Ford 'Shade & Illuminate' Highlighter & Shader Duet is splurge worthy!

Benefit Cosmetics Erase Paste / This might be the only concealer I have found that is powerful enough to cover my dark circle, while instantly brightening my eyes. It works great on blemishes too! It's a nice thick consistency, so be sure to only apply a little bit at a time. If I to choose one product in my arsenal that I could not live without, this would be it!

Illamasqua Powder Blusher in Nymph / I've been using this Illamasqua Blusher in Nymph for the past couple of months and I am on the fence as to whether I like it or not. I tend to go for a more petal pink color when it comes to blush. And while I really do like this shade, I find that it's pigmentation is a bit too saturated. You have to be very very careful as to not to apply too much. I am currently taking blush suggestions, if you have any!

Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb Travel Duo / Flowerbomb has been my go-to scent for years and I refuse to ever leave home without it! This Flowerbomb Travel Duo is perfect for just that. It comes with a super compact Eau de Parfum, Eau de Parfum refill and a funnel. Love it!

Vaseline Lip Therapy, Rosy Lips / I literally went on a wild goose hunt looking for this product when it first came out in November. After numerous unsuccessful drugstore attempts, I finally found it at the CVS near my apartment. I got so excited, that I bought 4 of them without even trying it first because I knew I would probably never find it again. Good thing I did, because I cannot live without it! It feels great on the lips, and gives you a perfect rose tint with a kissable glossy finish.

Dior 'Diorshow - Iconic Overcurl' Mascara / I bought this mascara the other week and I am not totally sold. I really love the shape of the brush and the formula, but I am still trying to master applying it without my lashes getting too clumpy. I've tried wiping off the excess mascara on a paper towel before applying, but this doesn't always do the trick... I getting a bit frustrated. Have any of you used this?

Stila Stay All Day® Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner / For the past few years I've been a devout gel liner enthusiast. I've been going back and forth between M·A·C Fluidline & Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Gel Liner for a while. They are both amazing products, but after trying Stila Stay All Day® Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner, I think it's safe to say that I have been converted to liquid. It's maker-like tip is super easy to apply & the quick-dry no smudge formula keeps it looking fresh all day long. It's the perfect liner to create the classic cat-eye with ease.

Lipstick Queen 'Invisible' Lip Liner / Lipstick Queen has so many cool products! One of my all time favorites is their Hello Sailer Lipstick, but right now their 'Invisible' Lip Liner may be at the top of my Lipstick Queen list right now! Lipstick Queen 'Invisible' Lip Liner is a silicone-based mechanical liner that goes on invisibly to create a defined lip edge and prevent your lip color from bleeding. If you love bold lipstick, this product will change your life!

Tom Ford Ultra Shine Lipgoss in Naked / I have been hearing a lot of positive things about Tom Ford's Ultra Shine Lipgloss, so I figured since I was already shelling out the dough for a couple of his other products, that I might as throw one more in and give it a whirl. I will say, minus the price tag, I am really impressed with the product. The formula is very nice and creamy. It does not leave my lips feeling sticky at all. The color, Naked, is the perfect neutral for everyday wear. I like it solo, but it looks great over a neutral lipstick as well.

    1. The Guerlain foundation & erase paste is a godsend! I highly recommend!!! As far as Tom Ford... I will say, it is pretty pricey... But if you are like me and love to invest in good beauty products, it's worth the price tag. Especially the brow sculptor. Holy moly, it's amazing! xo

  6. LOVE this! (I have a what's in my bag post coming up too!) I'm a huge fan of Tom Ford products, but haven't tried the primer, eyebrow sculptor, or illuminator/shader. I'm definitely getting the eyebrow sculptor. Currently, I use Le Metier and it's great - also on the waxier side which keeps my brows in place. But I ADORE every Tom Ford product that I've tried and my pencil is almost a stub!
